C & C Pet Fund, Inc. is a Florida fund that pays veterinary practices on behalf of families who cannot afford care for their own animals.
Everything we do comes down to one moment. A vet has found the problem and knows how to fix it. The family sits with the estimate and knows they cannot. Without help, that conversation ends in a decision nobody in the room wants to make.
We were set up so that decision does not have to be about money. We help low income households pay for preventative care, tests, treatment, hospital stays and surgery. We help animals who have no owner at all, brought in by somebody who could not walk past. And we do it by paying the practice directly, so every dollar given goes where it was meant to go.

In our own words
Our purpose
To help fund veterinary services for pet owners that are unable to financially support their personal pets, providing resources to low income households for preventative care, diagnostic testing, treatment, hospitalization and life saving surgeries. The Corporation also helps fund treatment and care for animals who are homeless. The Corporation endeavors to help save animals and prevent avoidable euthanasia, and to protect and advocate for companion animals in need, and in doing so, help maintain the human animal bond.
C & C Pet Fund, Inc.How we work
Florida, and only Florida
Our funding is used in this state. It keeps us close to the practices we work with and to the families we help.
We pay the vet, never the owner
No contribution is ever given directly to an individual. Funding goes to the treating veterinarian once an application is approved and treatment is booked.
We follow the vet's judgement
Treatment has to have a good prognosis. We are not in a position to fund every case, so we fund the ones where help changes the outcome.
We say no when we have to
Funding is limited and there is no guarantee of approval. We would rather be honest early than leave a family waiting on a maybe.
In memory
Linda Chambliss
1 August 2023. Attorney, animal lover, and the reason this fund exists.
In Memory of Linda Chambliss
Linda Chambliss was an extraordinary woman, a respected attorney, a devoted animal lover, and a true friend to those fortunate enough to know her. Throughout her distinguished legal career in South Florida, Linda dedicated herself to helping others. But perhaps one of the most meaningful parts of her legacy was her love for animals and her belief that no pet should go without necessary veterinary care simply because their family could not afford it.
Linda first became a client of Dr. Kristen Cometto, who cared for Linda's beloved cats for many years. Over time, their relationship grew beyond that of veterinarian and client and became a friendship built on a shared love for animals and a shared desire to help people.
Linda had already been quietly making a difference. Whenever she learned of a pet whose family was struggling financially, she would often help fund that animal's veterinary care. She understood that for many families, a beloved pet is a member of the family, and that having limited financial means should not mean having to choose between paying a veterinary bill and providing a pet with the care it desperately needs.
As Linda's own health declined, she began thinking about the legacy she would leave behind. She wanted her love for animals to continue making a difference long after she was gone. Together with Dr. Cometto, Linda helped turn that vision into reality by creating C & C Pet Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to providing financial assistance for veterinary care to low-income families who otherwise might not be able to afford treatment.
Linda passed away on August 1, 2023, but her story did not end there.
Because of Linda's generosity, compassion, and unwavering love for animals, her kindness continues through every pet whose family receives help from C & C Pet Fund. Her generosity helped give the organization a foundation, but her greatest gift was the example she left behind: that one person can make an extraordinary difference simply by choosing to care.
Every pet helped, every family given hope, and every animal given another chance is part of Linda's continuing legacy.
Although she is deeply missed, Linda Chambliss remains a part of C & C Pet Fund and its mission. Her love for animals lives on through the good deeds made possible by her generosity, and through the countless lives that will be touched because she cared enough to make sure her compassion continued beyond her lifetime.
Her legacy is not only remembered. It is still saving lives.
